The 8th Annual(ish) Banked Shalom

After last years miserable bankless summer, The Mushroom Crew´s Banked Shalom rose from the ashes. While at Riksgränsen Banked, Samuel Ærø (@samuelaeroe) found some much needed stoke. That spread to Tove Bratthäll (@) and Ylfa Rúnarsdóttir (@ylfarunars). Soon after, Krish (@krishtlmth), Kasper (@_basper) and Vegard (@vegard.sylte, alongside GaustaGjengen (@gaustagjengen) announced their attendance and the stage was set. Once the decision was made, more and more of the crew joined in for the build.

Stryn (@strynsommerski) offered more snow this year and with good help from John Patric (@snowcatjohn), the build was quite chill although Stryn´s endless sidehits had set it´s mark on the crew. As usual, testing of the full course is strictly prohibited until the first run, so there was some nervousness regarding the functionality of the course.

Like every other year, no one seems to read the text with info about registration, ridersmeeting or any other of the important stuff. This led to some mild chaos for Emil (@backpackface) when allmost 70% of the contestants decided to registrer less than one hour before the registration closed. Luckily, the more organized brother (@fossheim) drove down from Mo I Rana to help out with the logistics. This was very much needed with the abscence of Len Roald (@sirframeface) as he was busy this year making tons of babies.

Race day came and less than half of the contestants showed up on time to get their BiB number. This seems to be the standard, so it was no surprise for the crew. After some time, more than 130 people showed up to get their runs inn. Torgeir Bergrem (@torgeirbergrem) opened the show and the course was functioning beyond all expectation.

The battle for the Crown of Infinite Speed was on. With Rustad (@markusrrrrrr), Len (@sirframeface), and Ståle (@stalesandbech) having two names on the crown already, all the pressure was on Torgeir with only one previous win. In the end, Ståle proved his superiority and became the first person to have 3 names on the Crown. Ylfa took home the win in the Queens devision and both of them ended up winning their Switch runs as well.

Big thanks to the sponsors: Stryn, Airblaster, Coal Headwear, CHPO, Woolf Merino, Gråkallen (@grakallparken), Session (@session1988) and Kristoffer Lerånd.

Also a huge thanks to everyone helping out to make this epic event happen.

Hope to see more people next year and please read the text. And as always: The info is in the text people.
